Stephan discovered photography at age 16. At that time, for no specific reason, he bought a compact camera. From that moment on, he began to delve into the technical aspects of photography which unleashed a tidal wave of inspiration within him. Within no time photography grew into an enormous passion. 

Where it once varied from photographing abandoned buildings, portraits, events one subject continued to appeal to him the most. Nature, nowhere else did he experience how nice it is to merge into nature and lose yourself in the moment of photographing. While photographing, he likes to observe his surroundings before getting started. For Stephan, a photograph is at its best when he feels that he has enjoyed the moment of shooting in combination with a good result. For this, patience is essential in his eyes and so is the acceptance that sometimes a picture is not good enough. If he had to describe his current photography, he thinks of serenity, balance and simplicity.

In addition to digital photography, he also enjoys working with his 4x5 large format camera where observing the environment and composition become even more important.
