PHOTO TOUR NAMIBIA
A country where the ultimate nature experience comes together in both landscapes and wildlife. From giant dunes to the sea, rock formations with many different shapes, to petrified trees in the famous Deadvlei. This trip is going to be a once in a lifetime adventure because we are going to spend a night sleeping under the stars and you will have the chance to admire the rhino just 5 meters away (guided).
This 10-day photo trip to beautiful Namibia is packed with culture, landscapes and wildlife. You will hear, see, smell and taste this region and return home full of memories that you will daydream about for a long time to come.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
It goes without saying when we say that these days are mostly dedicated to landscape photography. We will go out each day with sunrise and sunset. We will use the afternoon hours to travel to the next accommodation or to conduct various workshops. Think of Compositions, Wildlife photography but also post-processing your photos. The first 7 days are mainly dedicated to landscapes and culture. We will visit the famous Sossusvlei and Kolmanskop, the ghost town near Luderitz. The authentic Himba villages should also not be missed. The last three days we stay in Onguma National Park to photograph the beautiful animals of Namibia together with a ranger. Our accommodation is in the middle of the animals' habitat so there is a good chance that you will see something walking in the immediate vicinity.
The trip to Namibia is open to any passionate photographer but only if you are ready for a breathtaking experience, a world full of magic! Because we travel quite long distances we have a schedule that is already fixed from day to day. Of course we will make sure that we are photographing the most beautiful moments with the best light. During this trip we have a private driver who takes us safely from A to B and knows the region like the back of his hand. In addition, really everything is arranged so you do not have to worry about the food. Wherever we go, the food is ready! Filled bellies, good transportation and hearts warmed with endless photography possibilities.
THE PROGRAM
DAG 1
Today we will gather at 12:00 at the airport in Windhoek. Here we will be ready with the driver and the adventure can begin. The drive to our first accommodation is a beautiful route of about 3 to 4 hours. We dine at the accommodation under a warm blanket overlooking the twinkling stars. This first night you have the opportunity to spend the night under the stars. You will receive details of this after registration.
DAY 2 & 3
Sand dunes as high as 300 meters fill the vista of this region. Many birds fly in this region and you will find beautiful plants and reptiles that are also very photogenic. We travel within this region today about an hour further for the next accommodation within Sossusvlei where we stay for the next two nights. We visit the famous trees in advance so we know where to be tomorrow for the sunrise. The highlights of these days are Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei, Dune 45, Big Daddy, Elim Dune and the Sesriem Canyon. Plenty of opportunities for great photos!
DAY 4 & 5
Today we leave Sossusvlei and drive to Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. We stay here near the coast where we have endless possibilities. They also call this region the Desert City and the Skeleton Coast. Flamingos, sea lions, sand dunes and a lighthouse calling out to be photographed. A drone can also come in handy here during the golden hour over the sand dunes. Did you know that this is Namibia's highest sand dune, Dune 7.
DAG 6
Today we drive to Spitzkoppe. The drive to the next accommodation is between 2 and 3 hours. Once arrived in this region you the Brandberg and Erongo mountain. In this area you can photograph the Spitzkoppe and other mountains from the ground but also between the arches of the rocks. This region they also call the Matterhorn of Africa. In clear weather, this is also a great place to photograph the Milky Way! A bright lens is important then.
DAY 7, 8 & 9
The last three days of the trip are dedicated to Wildlife photography. We stay in Etosha National Park where we are close to the wildlife. We are out all day to go on a game drive with the ranger. We pass several drinking waters where you can often spot animals. Here you also have the opportunity to photograph the animals from a hut at eye level by the water. Do be gentle so they do not hear you. This park is home to 114 different species of animals and as many as 340 different species of birds.... Just have the telephoto lens ready!
DAG 10
It's all over again, unfortunately! We have a good six hours back to Windhoek ahead of us. So keep in mind not to book an early return trip because we have a long drive ahead of us. If in doubt, we recommend flying back the next day.
