PHOTO TOUR SENJA

There is a saying in Norway that Norwegians are born with skis on their feet. Now we do not come to Senja to ski but the rugged landscape with pointed, steep mountains does show that it is a wonderful setting for an active trip. Senja is Norway's second largest island. Its deep fjords, high mountains and clear blue bays with white beaches are a landscape photographer's paradise. It is not very unlikely that we will be "alone" with the group a lot during this trip. Senja is not yet as well known as, for example, the Lofoten.

We begin the trip in Tromsø. The area around Tromsø and Senja are among the best on earth to see the aurora borealis. The weather is not always predictable but we also hope to admire the northern lights during this week. To make sure that you know how to capture this moment beautifully, the daytime travel guide explains well the settings of your camera to get this beautiful picture. Basic knowledge is already desired, though. Experiencing auroras in the night sky is an indescribable experience!

WHAT DOES SUCH A WEEK SENJA LOOK LIKE

It goes without saying when we say that the main focus is landscape photography. We will go out every day with sunrise, sunset and if the sky permits we will hunt for the Northern Lights. In between all these moments there will be time to get your rest, take a walk around the accommodation or share knowledge with each other. Lunch and dinner will alternate between a picnic in nature, a meal in a restaurant or we will cook together. This depends entirely on the schedule and weather on the day.

The Senja trip is open to any passionate photographer. We do not have a day to day schedule because we like to be guided by the most beautiful light. However, we do have a list of locations we will visit. Think of places like Tungeneset, Ersfjord, Bergbotn and Mefordbotn. The light is constantly changing between the mountains so an unexpected stop is definitely in between because we don't want to miss the best moment. Of course we all bring a dose of sociability and it will be an unforgettable, inspiring and above all enchanting complete trip where there is plenty of room for learning and discovery. We will stay 5 nights in a modern apartment on Senja, located close to stunning locations. The last night will be spent in Malangen. This is just a short hour from the airport.
