PHOTO WALK BAEST ESTATE

In the middle of the Green Forest lies the still somewhat unknown but enchanting Baets Estate. About 500 hectares full of forests, rhododendrons, avenues and the meandering Beerzen River. The medieval estate is a quiet area where it is easy to see how old nature is around it. This place is a wonderful setting to walk around early in the morning in company with the camera.

During the period of this photo walk, if all goes well, the rhododendrons are also in bloom. So it does not matter which lens you prefer because you can work with anything here. Do you go for the wide angle and grab the ferns as foreground or do you prefer to dive in between the flowers with your lens for some macro images? Oh and pay close attention because this property is home to both the woodland creek and meadow creek damselfly! What gems! If we go gentle in the morning we might be lucky enough to spot a roe deer among the fields full of buckwheat...shush.

DID YOU KNOW

In the nature on Baest Estate live very many deer. Early in the morning they often stand in open fields munching on the grass and grain. Especially the young leaves of buckwheat is a delicacy for the deer. Would you like to photograph a deer or roe deer? Then make sure you are invisible. It doesn't matter if you have camouflage clothing on or not, any movement you make they will detect anyway. Gently get out of your car and find a nice spot. Here you are going to wait in silence. Be aware that even whispering or tying your shoelace can scare them off. Make sure your camera settings are already in place and stay alert! Hopefully a sweet head will appear above the fields and you can take your dream photo! Oh, also make sure you don't have a waft of Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel No5 or other forms of perfume around you, unfortunately they don't like that either and then they can smell it from a great distance.
